TITLE: Continuous Integration SPEAKER: Olivier (Oli) Dagenais, Formark DATE: 30th of March 2006 ABSTRACT: Oli will give an introduction to what is commonly known as "Continuous Integration", the borrowed-from-XP discipline and technology that could save your projects time and increase their quality. Advantages, disadvantages and a recipe to implement it for your projects will be presented, as well as a timeline about its implementation at Formark and possible future directions. BIO: Originally interested in computers for their graphics and the demo scene, Oli somehow ended up at Formark writing case management and business solutions for big businesses and government organizations. He went on to design and develop tools to automate himself out of that job and has been busy improving processes and tools at Formark ever since, while somehow finding time to do "real work", contributing to a few open-source projects and still having time left to spend with his wife. Oli also had a few short stints with Microsoft, Macadamian and as a contractor, is especially passionate and enthusiastic about writing quality software and claims to "eat software engineering for breakfast". Oh, he also has a B.C.S. from Carleton University.
